Hello again! Hope you didn't miss me too much.
In case you forgot where I went, my wife and I welcomed our second daughter less than two weeks ago.
It's been a blast spending time together as a family — and watching our older daughter meet her new little sister.
I promised I'd take a break from work. But when you're doing what you love (and you're self-employed), it's hard to fully disconnect.
The good news is that the travel, loyalty, and credit card world has been unusually quiet over the past 10 days.
But a few updates just dropped, so I'm back in your inbox with the latest.

First look: JFK’s new terminals
Two new terminals are coming to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and I just uncovered pictures of what they'll look like.
First up is the $4.2 billion Terminal 6, which will have 10 gates and connect to JetBlue's Terminal 5 post-security.

There's space for four departure lounges: Aer Lingus, Air India, Cathay Pacific, and Lufthansa.
Terminal 6 is expected to open by the end of the year — just weeks from now.
Then, early next year, the $9.5 billion New Terminal One will open its first phase of 13 gates (23 when complete). It sits on the site of the existing Terminal 1 and the former Terminals 2 and 3.

It'll be home to five departure lounges — Air France, Korean Air, Plaza Premium, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines — plus a long list of airlines.
There's a lot more to see in this update, so if you haven't yet, check out my full preview on Instagram.
And as opening day nears, keep an eye on your inbox. I'll have a detailed first look with way better photos and videos.
November edit
The next six weeks are big for deals on travel tech, gear, and fashion, and I'll share the best ones as they drop.
To kick off the month, here are a few picks I've been loving — Black Friday sale or not.
Before you start shopping, check whether your Amazon account is targeted for an offer to save up to 50% when you redeem as few as 429 American Express Membership Rewards points.
Here’s the direct link to check Amex, as well as all other cards.
Men
Cable-knit cashmere sweater for fall ($119.90)
Turtleneck sweater for going out ($99.90)
Three-button long-sleeve polo ($99.90)
Women
My wife is on maternity leave, but she promises her picks will be ready for the next edition.
Travel tech and gear
I just grabbed one. It's a slimmed-down version of my go-to travel backpack, and it's perfect for shorter trips and everyday use. I'm impressed so far.
New AirFly View dongle ($79.99)
The dongle that connects your Bluetooth headphones to seatback screens just got a major upgrade: a built-in display for easy setup and pairing. At long last, it feels like it's made for everyone.
Washable laundry bag for suitcases ($24.99)
I recently started packing one to keep dirty clothes separate and contained. It also has a built-in hanger, which comes in handy in the hotel closet.
Routes: winners and losers
Delta and United have been busy updating their route maps.
Delta
Adding a new route from Austin to Bentonville, Arkansas.
It's the latest in a string of investments in Austin as Delta lays the groundwork to (likely) turn the Texas capital into a hub someday.
United
Adding service to Chihuahua, Mexico, from Houston. (The name gets me every time.)
Adding new and returning routes from San Francisco to Charleston, Hartford, Oklahoma City, Richmond, and Norfolk.
Dropping Tulum, the latest blow to one of Mexico's newest and most hyped airports.
Launching new service from Chicago to Bermuda.
November transfer bonuses
It's a new month, which means a fresh batch of points transfer bonuses just dropped.
Before I dig in, a heads-up: the 20% transfer bonus from Rove to JetBlue TrueBlue ends on Nov. 14.
JetBlue rarely runs transfer bonuses, and TrueBlue points are easy to get value from — there's no saver award space to hunt for.
If you don't have a Rove account yet, use my referral link to get 1,500 bonus miles when you sign up (it's free).
I use Rove to double-dip on shopping, dining, and even some travel purchases. (It works on top of your credit card points.)
As for the rest, I'm eyeing the 30% Avios bonus and the 30% bonuses to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. Both programs shine for long-haul awards to and from Europe, though taxes and surcharges can sometimes get in the way of a good points deal.
That's why I transfer during bonuses — it makes the math work better when it's time to redeem.

JetBlue hikes bag fees (again)
Checked bags on JetBlue just got pricier.
For tickets booked as of Nov. 3, your first checked bag will cost $50 to $70 each way, depending on when you're traveling and whether you prepay.

It's the airline's second bag fee hike this year. (The first came in late March, about a month after the start of the Iran war sent jet fuel prices soaring.)
If I were a betting man, I'd say the other U.S. airlines will match this hike soon. That said, JetBlue's precarious financial situation is likely why it's the one leading the industry here.
Of course, it's also another reason to grab a JetBlue cobranded credit card that includes a free checked bag.
💡 Tray Table Tip: Family travel edition
We're approaching two weeks with our second daughter, and I've been getting a ton of questions about strollers, car seats, passports, and more.
Today, I'll cover strollers and car seats. Passports and Global Entry will come in a future edition.
At home, I turned our existing stroller (a Bugaboo Kangaroo) into a double. It has an up-down layout rather than side-by-side seats, since NYC sidewalks and hallways aren't wide enough for a side-by-side double.
I'll never travel with it, though. (It's so big, I call it the Hummer.)

The Doona even fits in tight economy seats
For travel, here's our setup:
Doona convertible car seat and stroller for the baby. It should fit her until she's 15ish months old, and it makes travel so much easier. The only downside is there's no storage, but a bag like this helps.
Bugaboo Butterfly travel stroller for our 2-year-old. It collapses in seconds and fits in the overhead bin.
Cosco Scenera car seat for rental cars and Ubers. It can get unwieldy, but it's remarkably light. (I wish more Ubers offered car seats so we didn't have to lug this around.)
🗞️ News you can use: Hotel edition
Ahead of schedule: Hotels rarely open earlier than planned, but that appears to be happening at two of Hyatt's most anticipated properties.
The all-inclusive Park Hyatt Riviera Maya near Cancun is now taking reservations for stays as of Dec. 3, 2026. (Last-minute holiday plans, anyone?)
Meanwhile, the Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay is now taking reservations for stays as of April 1, 2027.
